We are excited to announce plans for our online summer workshops!
The Well Watch program is offering two online workshops. One workshop will explore how inland communities depend on and access water. The second workshop will explore how water quality testing is essential for protecting our finite resource – water.
Workshops can be completed at participant’s pace (within the requirements of graduate credit deadlines, if applying for credit).
Each workshop is worth one graduate course credit through the University of Northern Colorado. Details for each workshop is listed below along with registration deadlines.

Water for Inland Communities
This workshop will explore how inland communities have gained access to water. We will investigate the geological history of the South Platte River Basin, how water brings earth to life and the history of how South Platte River Basin communities gained access to water. We will also share new Well Watch tools and resources that can he used in the classroom for real life science investigation with K-12 students.

June 12, 2020 – August 7, 2020
Can be completed at participant’s pace (within the requirements of graduate credit deadlines).

- Prerequisites – None
- 1-hour semester graduate credit
- Tuition – $65 (reimbursed when workshop has been completed)
- 12 hours of instruction completed online
- Participants have until August 7th, 2020 to complete this workshop
Protecting a Finite Resource – Water
This workshop will explore why it’s essential to protect our water and what’s being done to protect it. We will investigate the evolution of water use in the South Platte River Basin, events that impact the quality and quantity of water, water policies, and the history and purpose of the Well Watch program. We will also share new Well Watch tools and resources that can he used in the classroom for real life science investigation with K-12 students.
